What are Funding Rates?
In perpetual futures markets (like Binance, Bybit, etc.), there's a fee regularly paid between long traders (betting prices go up) and short traders (betting prices go down). This mechanism keeps futures prices close to spot prices. Sometimes longs pay shorts, sometimes shorts pay longs—creating a $4+ billion annual opportunity.
How Zirodelta Works
Zirodelta creates a system to automatically collect funding rate fees without taking price movement risks. The project has two main components:
1Zirodelta WebApp (Off-Chain)
An algorithmic engine where users connect their exchange accounts via API. The bot intelligently opens long and short positions simultaneously (market-neutral/hedged strategy).
Since positions are balanced, users don't care if asset prices go up or down—they simply "harvest" profits from funding rate payments.
2Zirodelta Protocol (On-Chain)
The DeFi component on Solana. Profit data from the WebApp is sent to oracles, and the Protocol "tokenizes" these harvested results.
Creates two new tokens: PFRT (Positive Funding Rate Token) and NFRT (Negative Funding Rate Token), representing tokenized yield streams instead of USD profits.
